This is no joke, they really gave vegeta the same voice as urkel/spongebob here in germany, at least for the first ~30 episodes he appeared in. However the studio received a lot of complains(obviously) from the fans and therefore changed it to a more normal manly voice later on.

But i gotta admit, he really was good in what he was doing, his voice just didn't fit, that was all.(unlike the new voice, even though his voice sounded better he had no talent in voice acting at all)

and yeah, when i realized that none of the kids know/remembered steve urkel i felt REALLY old. Then i looked up when dbz first aired and it was EIGHT years ago, eight freaking years ago and i remember it as if it was just yesterday.

Is it sad that I had to look up Urkel? Haha....yeah, it is. I'm in the US so we didn't have /quite/ the same problem, but similar things have come up. Its funny how you remember voices.

the only thing worse in american dubbing is onepiece(mainly because they cencor all kinds of stuff there)

Lol, I still remember Urkel "Did I do that". Sigh now I feel old to that nobody remembers it on Youtube. Was a good show.

oh yeah voice acting and dubbing America sucks lol. that's why i love the Japanese better they are bold and if i have to read subtitles to watch so be it.
